And you'd better come...

That's right, we're having a 2birds1blog reader meet-up! So mark your calendars baby, cuz we've got a date. And Co-Blogger Chris is coming! And Ex-Co-Blogger Eddie! And Tulane Chris! And Becca! And Alex! And Helena! And Anna! And basically the entire 2birds1blog gang! So, I guess technically it's more of a gangbang than a "date." Either way, it should be ridiculous and we can't wait.

Let's show those
Jäger bitches that we know how to party and we're worth sponsoring!..............(Cuz I think I'm eating cat food for dinner tonight.) Mmmkthnxseeyouthere!

Oh how I wish I hadn't moved two months ago, just so I could be near enough DC to come to this shindig. I know it will be ah-mazing

Elliot said...

Oh wow, I'm so there.

James said...

Holy shit. I always thought the 2b1b events were in the realm of fantasy (no offense, going by the track record here). 1000 miles seems such a far, far distance. :(

Alright, rock on. Thus far it's just going to be the 2birds1blog gang and Elliot. Drinking a shit ton of Jägermeister. GET EXCITED!

Katie said...

I am so excited. And I am totally that person that acts like I want to go out but in reality I want to stay in bed with my dog keeping my feet warm, catching up on the week's worth of tv shows. But this is worth gettig out of bed for.

James said...

Oh, don't get me wrong. Unless by some miracle I go to visit my one east coast friend in Boston and some way make it hundreds of miles south to Washington, I'm not going to be there. But I WILL be drinking massive amounts of Jager and tweet-hollering at you. Maybe with Nate. And really, THAT is what truly matters.

HAHA NATE! Aww...where is that dreamy kid? He hasn't been around the e-block in ages.

2 Birds, 1 Blog: The sardonic voice of 20-somethings everywhere, Monday through Friday. said...

Wow, I want to punch myself in the face for saying "e-block."

ho said...

Why god, why do you have to have it on that night?! If that is the case, I will be bringing my entire "First Holiday Party of the Season" gathering to Town Tavern...

Susan said...

oh, don't worry, i'm coming. it's just a matter of recruiting friends to come with first so i'm not a creeper.

iDrink said...

This is the best news I've heard in a dogs age.

Lisa said...

Ditto to what Susan said!

Ohmygoshi said...

oh score! i'm so in.

Natalie said...

I am SO there. AND I've never had this Jager you speak of, so I'm VERY excited to give it a whirl.

I've never met an evangelical drinker before, but I'll be pleased to make your aquaintence! Hear that Jager corporate? Meggles is spreading the gospel of Jager far and near!

Chrissie said...

Well since I read this blog everyday, and some Saturdays too, I guess I should come!

mookie said...

HAHA this is amazing. Too bad it's not in Boston.

I have two words for you all: Grey. Hound. Although technically it's one word. So I have one word for you all: Greyhound.

I'm not going to lie, I've been drinking since 4. And yes I'm still at the office. K, see you all December 5th!

Margo said...

OMFG I'M SO EXCITED!!! It's sad how much this just made my day (week, really). I live in Kalorama so you KNOW I'm in!! Woot!!

Anonymous said...

i want to go but... i'm scared that once i see you all face to face i'm just going to not be able to read this anymore.

2 Birds, 1 Blog: The sardonic voice of 20-somethings everywhere, Monday through Friday. said...

I feel the same way, but about you.

Brian said...

Oh SNAP. I'm going to have to do my best to be there for this. I knew there was a reason I moved to DC in June!

Lauren Marie said...

oh shizer.
i once worked a summer in d.c. but that was a month of Sundays ago.

maggie said...

alright, my mission from now until dec 5th is to recruit enough friends so that i don't feel like a loner when i creep up to town tavern all starry-eyed and more excited than a fat kid at chipotle.

2birds1blog jagerfest, here i comeeee!
oh shit oh shit!

Casey said...

My office party is this weekend as well. I enjoy my office holiday parties as much as you enjoy your work realted trips..needless to say I will be there with bells on. The bells will be for my loved ones to locate me wandering in the streets of DC after consuming worrisome levels of Jager.

Susan said...

yeah, that wasn't hard. i just told people to prepare for the time of their lives and like, eight of them are in.

round of jager bizombs on me!

Susan said...

ps maggie and lisa you can roll w/us.

Natalie said...

Susan - I may need to roll with you too! All my 2b1b blog recruits are out of state :-(

Annie said...

hoooooo-lyyy crap. pretty sure im flying in from dallas so i can be there. how i will afford a plane ticket and a hotel is beyond me but if i have to turn tricks then i have to turn tricks. whatever it takes!! 2BIRDS1BLOG debauchery 2009!!!!

Stephanie said...

Pshaw! I am totally there and will bring all the folks I've gotten hooked on 2B1B.

KellyAOsborne said...

-i was possibly going to NYC for some winter wonderland frolicking.. NOT ANYMORE! count me in!

James said...

Dear Drunk Meggles,

I hear ya, homegirl, I do. Greyhound is $70 (not a problem) but a TWENTY hour drive each way. That kind of fucks up the "weekend in DC" part of the plan. And then there's the issue of a hotel, unless you are bringing readers into your apartment now. If you are, then I will stockpile your humble abode with all the Kashi your newly-flexible-little-butt can eat!

Fuck am I jealous. And all this talk of drinking makes me want to be drunk. Pretty much everything you have right now I want. Sigh.

Let's see if we can't fix that drunk part of the problem. CONGRATS again on the blog award and have a good weekend!

Roll with the 2b1b crew! We're cool as shit and very friendly, I promise.

hoooooo-lyyy crap. pretty sure im flying in from dallas so i can be there.
College Roommate Danielle might be flying in from Dallas too! Group rate?

CONGRATS again on the blog award and have a good weekend!
Thanks homeboy! <3

can you get a block of rooms for a group rate for all of us out of towners?? work your magic miss mcblogger!

2b1b will come out of anonimous-ity or however its said (english fail)... YAY!
Its too bad i moved away from DC to... well... Argentina, no Greyhound will be taking me to you... boo )=.

Post pictures, please? So I can see all the fun i missed out of!

Cat. said...

I mean... on. (all the fun i missed out on.)

ps: no Jäger here. when you become its rep or whatever, you can bring it down south!

Daniel said...

I am speechless that people have not experienced Jäger. Do you guys at least have Andre?

Vanessa said...

cannot wait. going to start building up a tolerance now.

Hillary said...

Daaaaaaamn -- I am shocked at how seriously I am considering flying from the West Coast to the East Coast solely to attend this epic event! Oh, and maybe see the Terracotta Warriors exhibit while hung over the next day...

Congratulations on the write-in-win! 2B1B totally deserves local as well as national notoriety.

Sean said...

Son of a bitch I need to move back to dc

Nate said...

MEIST!!!

First of all, thank you for making this happen.

BUT THESE ARE TEARS OF SADNESS RIGHT NOW AND NOT TEARS OF JOY.

You know WHY? Because I'm in a play that runs for the month of December and I have a performance on Dec. 5th at 8pm (heyyooo all you Wisconsin 2b1b readers! Come see it or I'll set myself and/or your car on fire).

GAH! If I didn't have this play, I would seriously fly to DC just to go to this because I have no life/job and have all the free time in the world (but very little money, unfortunately).

So, I'm just going to throw this out there since neither James or I can be there... I think we're going to need a "2b1b Jager Ball Part II: The Reckoning" sometime early next year. OR A 2B1B SPRING BREAK 2010 CRUISE.

OK, I love you bye bye bye. And PLEASE take a shitload of picture AND VIDEOS of the night. And I may or may not be hoping for a Kush demonstration, too.

Love,
Dr. Sinners

I started looking up flights from Milwaukee to DC and got bored. But had I not gotten bored, here is where I would have linked that flight!

Must find a way to attend my very ritzy holiday gala and this BAD ASS event all in one night....

Studly said...

I'm soooooo IN. The amount of Jager that will be consumed in such a short period of time should make it a night to remember... or at least try to remember.

Patrick said...

Crappity crap crap crap. I can't come. Please post pictures of anything/everything for those of us who cannot attend.

I'll be sure to drink some Jager on my family outing I have to attend instead. Probably too much...

Susan said...

natalie-- no problem! i'll be the one wearing a black dress and a martini. beyond that, i'm just shy of 6 feet.

trust me, you'll see us.

Laurie said...

Crap! If I didn't live in Florida I would totally be there. I'm seriously sad I live so far away! Hope you all have fun though!

Liz said...

i'm seriously considering flying home early from my semester in the uk to attend jager ball?

good life decisions?

Travis said...

I thought you meant you have been drinking since four years old

~Travis

A. Rue said...

I am not a Jager person. BUT I will attend just so Meg can try to convert me! BECAUSE SHE COULD, HERR JAGER REP, SHE COULD.

P.S. Katie - I totally agree.

P.P.S. Boston folks, we have Chinatown buses, don't tell me you can't come. Fifteen bucks. To drink with a Jager celeb. That's right.

P.P.S.S. I definitely wondered if that TFLN was about this blog, too =P

A. Rue said...

I didn't know it was possible to be more excited about this event, but I now am! Because Town Tavern has jalapeno poppers. Everyone better get drunk enough that they don't mind my breath.

Elliot said...

Until I just looked at the flyer thing again, I thought this was taking place at Town (on U St.). I can get down with Town Tavern, I guess, but it's not as exciting if there's not a chance some guy hits on me and refuses to believe that I'm straight.

Talia said...

my best friend is a celeb. i am in!

Helen said...

SO not fair that I can't make it because
(a) it's my partner's 40th birthday party on the 5th
and (b) I live in New Zealand. There may well be a Greyhound bus from LA to DC, but I don't think Greyhound have a bus that can make it across the Pacific Ocean. Damn them!

jen toppe said...

can we reschedule this shindig for somewhere in charleston?? you know how i feel about flying. i'll buy you a mcsalad shaker (but only if you'll do the shakin) and give you the thrashing of a lifetime for old times sake.

LW said...

Uhhh...I think we Dallas folk should get together for a remote Jager 2birds1blog party...bc I'm too po' to fly to DC right now....unless there is a haunted monument tour involved...then I'm all in.

No Faith In Humanity said...

Um, hello bitches! That is my birthday. I think you just gave us a destination and a beverage of choice!

The Realist said...

There and there. Especially since Adams Morgan is basically a short stumble from my door (downhill going home--points to me.)

No Faith In Humanity said...

PS can I somehow incorporate you all into my evite?

Casey said...

recommend a cheap hotel for me and my friends and we're there... like the crazy blog-lurkers that we are....

AE Co. Buns said...

I am coming to this from HOUSTON, TEXAS. And let it be noted I only have 3 friends in DC, 1 of which I actually like.

Feel honored. I'll be the drunk blonde with the southern accent (probably complaining that it never gets this cold in Texas).

Heather said...

If that 2Bird1Blog cruise idea ever takes off make sure it stops in St. Croix (cause that is where I live (yes, you can be jealous))and I will take you all out drinking 'cause alcohol is cheaper than mixers here. Wish I could be there.

shelley said...

Has anyone thought to alert the bar so they dont run out of the Jager?
First time I drank it .. i was in bar by myself and kept watching the waitress drinking them. (It was a slow sunday night) Anyways I said can a shot of that and she gave it to me and I sipped it! ha ha ha.. She corrected me and its been my fav shot ever since!
Have fun that night from Toronto Canada!
You should have a twitter deal where we can all hit our fave bars and at various times of the night do shots of jager together!

I was on the phone with my husband (who is deployed in Afghanistan) when I read this post. This is how the conversation went:
Him: I'm coming come sometime the first week in December.
Me: That's awesome sweetie... HOLY SHIT 2Birds is having a Jager Ball Dec 5!
Him: I'm not sure if I'll be back in time for that.
Me: Can't you fly into DC?

I'm such an awful person/I really hope we can make it to the party.

oh kate said...

I will be there with or without my husband and a few friends in case I'm not cool enough to hang out with you guys

LK said...

Umm not be be a dork but can we have a LA satellite party?

Lauren said...

Amazing. Too bad I´m reading this from Barcelona. Let me know if you decide to take the show on the road.

No Faith In Humanity said...

as a result of afforementioned evite, i found out that this place has an age limit of 23 and above for males, 21 and above for females. don't know just why, but figured i should pass it on before any young lads try to make the trek there.

Elizabeth said...

How is this not going to turn out awkward and creepy when 70+ people show up just to look at you? I'M DYING TO FIND OUT

2 Birds, 1 Blog: The sardonic voice of 20-somethings everywhere, Monday through Friday. said...

Yeah..........I should start dieting now. I have what one might call, "a face for blogging." Don't get too excited.

Also, I'm working on some hotel specials, so hang tight until Friday. We'll see what pans out.

Gawd I love you guys.

If you ever business trip to Toronto - call me!

This sounds like so much fun! I know you make your way to NYC from time to time. Make this shit a road show! I know New York isn't far enough away to make this trip infeasable, but traveling away from my wife for a weekend just to party with a charmingly awkward and hilarious girl that I've never met is. Though I am nothing if not faithful, this would raise a red flag... That being said, I would definitely come to one that was held in NY. Also, I've been working in the Spirits, or "Booze" industry for quite a number of years now (but not so many that I'm not still in my 20s), and my paths have crossed the current VP in charge of Jager Sales and Marketing many times when he was in another role. I could have him on the phone by the end of the day. (though I won't, because he would have no idea who I am, and it would be weird)
